Tinsukia
College completed its glorious fifty years of establishment
in 1st September 2006. In many ways it was not a mean
achievement at all. From a very humble beginning in 1956, we
have reached a significant milestone against all odds &
constraints. Carefully nurtured by illustrious academician,
benevolent philanthropists & dedicated faculties, it created
a distinct place of pride in the mind of the citizens of the
region.
In the globalised world,
economic competence is now based on the capacity to develop
& manage knowledge. Since time immemorial, knowledge knew no
frontiers and with the advent of IT, the pace of knowledge
creation & dissemination have undergone a rapid change.
Explosion of knowledge & its delivery mechanism has thrown
open new challenges & opportunities which demands more than
pro-active role on the part of the learners & teaching
fraternity. Nothing can empower people more than good
education & as such higher education has become a decisive
factor. Students & parents expectation are fast changing in
the market driven economy which entails higher education to
adopt itself to the global requirements and demands of
knowledge economy. To achieve these objectives there is a
greater need to be a true "partnership" between teachers &
students to achieve the cherished goals of different stake
holders.
The glorious past & the
illustrious present of our college must not create any sense
of complacency. We are fully committed to taking the college
towards new vistas of academic excellence. We are still far
away from being established as an ideal institution at this
juncture & have to take these challenges in its stride and
adopt ourselves to the realities of the globalised world.
I take this opportunity to
welcome all my budding students and appeal them to feel
proud & be part of this great institution.
